Yasmin's Top 4 Reasons Why Guinea
Pigs Are The Perfect Pet
ONE: They're the perfect size.
Small enough to be the perfect pet for any place since they don't take
up much space. But they're still large enough a handful to pet and cuddle
(as opposed to hamsters and gerbils)
TWO: They're fairly inexpensive
to maintain. When I bough my Cocoa and Misty, it didn't cost me much more
than $100 to start (pigs, cage, and supplies combined).
THREE: They're vocal, responsive
little critters. My piggies (past and present) would squeal when they're hungry or thirsty.
They'll make little peeping/wheeking noises when they're exploring uncharted
territory (or their cage). And they purr just like a cat when you scratch
them in the right way (or when it's their time of the guinea-pig month).
If you pet their heads in just such a way, they'll poke their heads upwards
like they're burrowing/rootling under your hand.
FOUR: You get a good amount of
guinea pig for your buck. With proper care guinea pigs can live to about
5 to 8 years (as opposed to only a couple of years for hamsters, gerbils,
and some rabbits).
IN SHORT: Guinea pigs are cheap,
vocal, convenient pets that can give you years of love and companionship.
